It is with deep sorrow that family, friends, colleagues, and the wider trucking community mourn the tragic passing of James “Jimmy” Lyttle Williams, who died following a devastating truck crash on State Highway 1 in North Canterbury, New Zealand, in June 2026.
Jimmy, a respected driver for Vowles Transport, was involved in a serious two-truck collision near Parnassus Road and McPhersons Stream Bridge in Spotswood. Despite emergency efforts and being airlifted to hospital, he sadly passed away from his injuries.
James joined Vowles Transport in August 2019 and quickly became known for his dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic. Over the years, he earned the respect of colleagues across the transport industry, steadily building his reputation as a committed and skilled professional.
